This Moms of Miami section is an idea I’ve had for a long time in support of all the local moms that have a passion for entrepreneurship and being their own bosses. I support and admire their endeavors and I ask them about this journey. Here is to the first of many! Read about a fellow Miami Mom, Ana Servin, with whom I resonate with in many ways. See why.
From her desk, Ana:
I’m a stay at home mom to 2 lovely kids, Mateo (5) and Olivia (1). I recently started making teething/nursing necklaces because I honestly love them. It’s something I enjoy doing on my free time. However my passion has always been related to Health, Nutrition & Fitness. Years ago I took nursing classes but then found interest in Dietetics. Eventually I didn’t finish nursing but I did finish as a Dietetic Aide.
Later in 2010, I completed my course with Integrative Nutrition (Health Coach). Now I’m taking a Naturopathy course (Natural Medicine) and an Aromatherapy course. Our family has been vegan for 3 years and if you follow me on Instagram you’ll see more on these recipes and my lifestyle on Social Media.
I am reflecting on the importance of taking care of yourself.
I get inspired daily to live life to the fullest. We only have one body and it’s time we start taking care of it from the inside out. That’s why I am starting a support/challenge group on building the strength we need for appreciating ourselves, enjoying life and motherhood (for my mamas) to the fullest and be able to be the example for our family.
Our support/challenge groups are an exclusive online private Facebook group, so no one sees what you’re posting except those in the group. In our fitness challenge groups, we provide daily motivation, support, and encouragement to help you reach your health and fitness goals and stay committed to the decision you’ve made to become healthy and fit. You will receive daily motivation and tips to keep you encouraged and accountable.
This is a way to offer amazing peer-to-peer motivation and support with people who are going through the same fitness programs. Most importantly, the accountability this group brings is the KEY to your success! Let’s face it, it is hard to stay on track on your own. So why not join other people with the similar goals of losing weight, getting in shape and becoming more healthy? All while building great friendships! Its all about trusting and giving yourself a chance. Being part of a community of friendship and love!
When we acknowledge that changes, challenges, and hardships are there to deepen us, to remind us that we do get second chances, and that we are each made up of love, compassion, and healing, something remarkable happens.
Now, when some people hear “challenge” they might get scared and run the other way. It’s not a competition (unless you want it to be with yourself) but it’s more-so a way to challenge yourself to reach the dreams and goals you’ve wanted for yourself in health and fitness. Whether that is losing 5 pounds or 100 pounds, maybe it’s eating healthier or maybe you are thin but now want to be toned. Whatever your goals may be, a challenge group is for YOU! This is a proven and simple formula, and those who commit are more likely to finish and get the absolute best results. When we acknowledge that changes, challenges, and hardships are there to deepen us, it reminds us that we do get second chances. When we acknowledge that we are each made up of love, compassion, and healing, something remarkable happens.
I joined Team Beachbody after Mateo was born back in 2011. I loved everything about the company! But within a year I cancelled my account due to a family emergency and I honestly did not have any motivation to continue. But this has been something I’ve always loved. That’s why I’m happy to be back in! I will continue to push through the struggles and go for my dream.
Oli & Teo was inspried by Olivia. Sadly I didn’t know anything about teething necklaces when Mateo was born. Now I have both of my kids to motivate me on my new business journey.
Find what works for you and make yourself one of your priorities.
Starting a home business is a means of creating a better life for my kids and family. My kids themselves inspired the business idea from the start. You have to make your family part of your home business and make them part of that journey, including them when possible. We always have breakfast and dinner together in order to be engaged and always stay connected.
I found natural rhythms in my business and used them to schedule calls and work out. For now there will be no marathon workouts for this busy mama, but half an hour of a home workout can go a long way. It clears your head and aids in reclaiming your energy. Find what works for you and make yourself a priority. Add a daily walk with the family as well and enjoy the outdoors. As a mom, I know that not everything goes as planned and that’s okay. Just relax, have faith, and take it one day at a time. And remember, look for inspiration everywhere.
